spigliata versione risaliva addirittura a 5 anni prima!
Non sarà questa la vera, originale “Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle”?
Listening to it now, it seems impossible that
this elephantine LP was a success at the time. All the more prog worst,
excessive, baroque, false rock is here. Redundant like every parvenu faux
intellectual who fools with classical music, even having the presumption to
improve it, but being able to make almost ridiculous, copying slavishly some
melodic line and constantly missing the run down of the Mussorgsky suite.
Awkward silences and indecisive, aimless improvisations that float like a
feather in the grip of the tornado, the real difference with the symphony,
modern perhaps, such as Klaus Schulze, is profound and unbridgeable.
Not satisfied, the three Musketeers of the Obvious
launch into a dazzling "bis" from the Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky:
without the need to consider the original, suffice to say that they were smacked
even by the Ventures, whose version, far
more self-confident, was even 5 years before !
Could be this the true, original "Great
Rock 'n' Roll Swindle"?
